As we tour Greece and Turkey, you will discover many of the sights that are so familiar from reading the book of Acts and the Epistles. We will see the places where the real action unfolded, as the church of Jesus Christ was expanding 2,000 years ago!
From Athens, Corinth, to Philipi, Thessaloniki, Ephesus, Laodicea and much more, the Gospel of God’s Grace will come alive in a new way as we better understand the people who first received it. Personally I look forward to unparalleled opportunities of teaching great nuggets of God’s grace, right where the revelation first came.

Itinerary
Day One: Depart from Toronto
Greece
Day Two: Arrive in Athens. Transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight. (Dinner)
Day Three: Enjoy a guided trip to the Acropolis. See the Propylaea, Erechtheum, and the Parthenon. Visit Mars Hill, where Paul delivered his speech on the “Unknown God”. View the Agora. From the bus you will view the highlights of modern Athens: the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Constitution Square with the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Parliament House, and the Old Olympic Stadium. Continue your trip to Ancient Corinth, where Paul stood accused before Gallio. Drive to Cenchreae, where Paul ended his second missionary journey. Overnight in Athens. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day Four: Experience mainland Greece as you drive to Kalambaka. See the ageless Meteora Monasteries and visit one of them, taking in the priceless works of art. Overnight in Kalambaka. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day Five: Drive to Veria. Visit the Bema of the apostle Paul, where he is said to have stood and preached the Gospel to the local community. Continue to Thessaloniki, the city of Jason and Paul. See the White Tower, the Rotunda, the Roman Arch of Galerius, the Walls of the Byzantine Acropolis and visit The Basilica of St. Demetrius. Overnight in Thessaloniki. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day Six: Follow the route of the Via Egnatia and visit the area of Amphipolis. See the famous Lion of Amphipolis, and the site of Philippi. Visit the Baptistery of Lydia, where Paul baptized his first convert on European soil. Visit the ruins of the Forum of Philippi, the Christian Basilicas and the “Prison of Paul”. Drive to the picturesque Kavala (Neapolis), and view the Byzantine castle and the Roman Aqueducts. Overnight in Kavala. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day Seven: Drive through Greek Thrace, passing by Xanthi, Komotini and Alexandroupolis. Cross over the Greece/Turkey border into Turkish Thrace. Drive to Canakkale for overnight. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Turkey
Day Eight: Visit Troy; the legendary city of Homer’s Iliad, and Alexandria Troas. Continue to Pergamon. Visit the Pergamon Acropolis. See the Asklepion; the ancient healing centre, the Temple of Trajan, and the Red Basilica, one of the Seven Churches of the Apocalypse. Overnight in Izmir. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day Nine: Depart for Ephesus. Visit the House of the Virgin Mary and St. John's Basilica. Visit the Temple of Artemis; one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Overnight in Pamukkale. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day Ten: Visit Hierapolis. See the Roman thermal baths, the Theater, and Necropolis. Drive to Laodicea and visit the Church of Laodicea ruins. Visit Philadelphia and drive to Sardis, the capital of ancient Lydia. Visit the Temple of Cybele and Diana, and the Gymnasium. Continue to Akhisar, ancient Thyatira, and visit the Church of Thyatira. See the site of Colossae. Overnight in Bursa. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day Eleven: Visit Bursa: the Grand Mosque, Green Mosque and Green Mausoleum. Continue to Nicea and visit St. Sophia Church; meeting place of the Second Council of Nicea. Overnight in Istanbul. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day Twelve: Visit the 6th Century St. Sophia Museum, the Blue Mosque, the Hippodrome Square, the Chora Church, and the world famous Grand Covered Bazaar. Enjoy a Farewell dinner in Kumkapi District. Overnight in Istanbul. (Breakfast, Dinner)
Day Thirteen: Transfer to Istanbul airport for your flight back home. (Breakfast)
